A healthy smile for 3000 children

By the time a child reaches five years old in Cambodia, they can have around 5-10 teeth which show advanced decay. Many have experienced extreme pain at some point, along with infection. Most of them have never received any kind of oral health instructions or care.

RSP’s Dental Care Project offers free dental healthcare for more than 1,000 orphaned and poor children in the most remote areas of RSP’s community. At the same time, RSP organizes essential oral health education, teaching children how to take care of their teeth through diet and daily brushing.

Volunteers welcome

RSP is looking for volunteer dentists, dental hygienists, or other volunteers with experience and expertise in the fields of oral or dental care. We invite you to visit Cambodia, stay in our community and share your expertise with us. RSP has a full time manager to help you with your accommodation, transport, translation etc.

As our volunteer, you may choose one of the two shifts in which the Dental Care Project is run, leaving either the week or weekend free to relax and experience daily life in our village or travel the country. We also offer Evening Meditation Courses, Khmer Cooking Courses and cultural excursions to local sights.

There is also an opportunity to take the Dental Care Project “mobile” and travel into different schools, villages, communities and orphanages in rural areas – a great opportunity to experience how Cambodians really live.

Total Funds Needed: US$ 147,440
